Position Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and production of power transformers in our Rincon, GA manufacturing facility.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise in electrical design and the ability to work closely with manufacturing to ensure products are accurate, reliable, and built to specification. You will play a key role in translating customer requirements into manufacturable designs and supporting execution on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems and components for power transformers including windings, insulation systems, and connections
- Develop and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and design documentation
- Perform electrical calculations including load, impedance, losses, thermal performance, and short-circuit analysis
- Translate customer specifications into detailed, manufacturable designs
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and buildable
- Support production by troubleshooting electrical and design-related issues on the shop floor
- Participate in testing, validation, and quality assurance activities
- Review and validate bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, and specifications
- Drive continuous improvement in design, cost, quality, and lead time
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3–6 years of experience in electrical design within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals (power systems, circuits, electromagnetics)
- Experience performing engineering calculations related to electrical systems
- Ability to read and develop electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Hands-on experience working with manufacturing or production teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in transformer design, power systems, or high-voltage equipment
- Knowledge of insulation systems and thermal performance in transformers
- Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, IEC)
- Experience with ERP/PDM systems
- Exposure to testing and validation of electrical equipment
