In the transformer industry, the global shift toward carbon neutrality and increased electrification is driving a significant rise in demand for transformers. Customers and manufacturers are grappling with rising costs, long lead times, and challenges in planning due to limited manufacturing capacity and availability and cost volatility of required materials. Enhancing the efficient use of transformers through optimized load factor and lifespan extension addresses these issues while providing an economical and environmentally friendly solution for transmission and distribution (T&D) customers.
However, ensuring the reliability of aging transformers and/or operating under higher loads presents another challenge.
