USA, Wisconsin, Beaver Dam: Wisconsin is witnessing a massive wave of data centre development, with seven major projects currently pending across the state and carrying a combined value of more than $57 B.

One of the biggest developments is a $1 B data centre being built in Beaver Dam for Meta, the trillion-dollar technology company behind Facebook and Instagram. The project covers 210 ha (520 acres) and is supported by major investments in energy infrastructure.

Construction work is under way on a new substation being developed by American Transmission Company adjacent to the site. The company is investing $191 M in new transmission and power facilities to support the large-scale data centre operations. The power infrastructure project is expected to be completed in 2027.

The Beaver Dam development reflects the increasing demand for digital infrastructure and the growing need for large energy projects to support expanding cloud and online services.
