Sweden, Norrköping: Assemblin Electrical has been awarded a turnkey contract by E.ON to deliver electrical, high-voltage and ventilation installations for a new substation in Norrköping.
The project covers the construction of the Sylten substation, which consists of two buildings replacing older infrastructure. The contract value is estimated at more than $16.3 M (150 M SEK).
The new facility forms part of E.ON’s long-term programme to modernise and strengthen the regional power grid. The focus is on improving operational reliability, efficiency and future readiness to meet growing electricity demand.
Design plans include a brick exterior to help the station blend into a more public environment, while all technical equipment will be installed indoors to reduce external impact and improve safety and integration with surroundings.
Jonas Klarén, CEO of Assemblin El, said the project is an important contribution to regional energy supply and highlighted the company’s experience in complex high-voltage construction work where coordination and quality are essential.
The substation project is scheduled to begin in 2026 and is expected to be completed by 2029.
E.ON representatives emphasised the importance of having a partner capable of delivering both technical expertise and reliable execution throughout the project lifecycle.
The Sylten substation is part of broader investments aimed at strengthening the electricity network and ensuring long-term stability for future energy needs in the region.
