India: Bajel Projects Limited has launched “Saksham” – The Trainees’ Development Program – to provide structured training for new graduates entering the power transmission engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) sector. The first group of trainees began on 4 August 2025.
The one-year programme, open to candidates recruited from campuses across India, combines on-the-job learning, mentoring, and classroom sessions. It follows the 70-20-10 learning model, with the aim of building technical knowledge, industry understanding, and workplace skills relevant to the EPC sector.
According to Bajel Projects, the scheme addresses the gap between academic knowledge and the practical skills required in complex infrastructure projects. Training will include both sector-specific technical instruction and development of broader skills such as communication, collaboration, and professional adaptability.
The curriculum covers:
- Bridging the gap between theory and practice in engineering projects
- Practical application of technical concepts used in the EPC industry
- Development of non-technical skills, including teamwork and communication
- Orientation to workplace culture and organisational processes
Participants will receive guidance from experienced professionals and mentors during the programme, with the intention of preparing them for a variety of roles within power transmission projects upon completion.
Bajel Projects stated that the initiative is part of a longer-term approach to developing the sector’s talent base, particularly in areas where specialised technical skills are in demand. The company said it plans to run further Saksham intakes in future years.
