India, Madhya Pradesh, Sehore: CG Power and Industrial Solutions has rolled out the first power transformer from its new $83.8 M (₹792 crore) greenfield manufacturing facility in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh.
The 20-ha (50-acre) plant is designed to manufacture 220 kV to 1200 kV power transformers and produce up to 35 units per month. The first transformer was completed on 4 September 2026.
Part of the facility is now operational with installed manufacturing capacity of 10,000 MVA. CG Power plans to commission the remaining sections in phases, increasing capacity to 45,000 MVA.
Once the Sehore plant reaches full capacity, the company’s total transformer manufacturing capacity is expected to reach 120,000 MVA.
Construction began in October 2025 following the allocation of land by the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation in August 2025. The investment is being financed through qualified institutional placement and internal accruals.
CG Power cited increasing demand from renewable energy projects, data centres and export markets among the factors behind the expansion.
The plant will supply transformers for utilities, data centres, railways, renewable energy, oil and gas, and transmission infrastructure projects, while also supporting the company’s export business.
CG Power said the new facility is expected to generate more than 2,000 direct and indirect jobs in the region.
