Saudi Arabia: Elsewedy Electric Power Systems Projects is progressing with six high-voltage substations across Saudi Arabia, with capacities ranging from 110 kV to 115 kV. The schemes are being carried out in partnership with the Saudi Electricity Company and the National Grid Company, alongside global technology providers such as Hitachi Energy and Siemens Energy.

The substations are located across important areas, including Jawharat Al Arous and Naqua in the Western Region, one in Riyadh, and three in Dammam – Al Nasriyah, Al Khaleej 2 and Al Fayhaa. This spread supports the Kingdom’s growing need for electricity and ensures balanced network coverage.

Elsewedy Electric said the developments are part of its ongoing efforts to support and strengthen the country’s power transmission sector. The projects are designed to improve the performance and reliability of electricity networks while maintaining a stable power supply.

They also underline the company’s expanding presence across key regions, reinforcing its role in developing and upgrading Saudi Arabia’s power infrastructure. By combining global expertise with strong execution capabilities, Elsewedy aims to deliver complex projects efficiently and to high standards.

All six substations are being delivered under a full turnkey model, covering design, procurement, construction, grid connection, and testing and commissioning. Advanced technologies, including gas insulated switchgear and high-capacity transformers, are being used to ensure efficiency and reliability.

CEO Hesham Hegazy said the projects highlight continued cooperation with the National Grid and support rising demand driven by urban and industrial growth.

The company is also working on the Rabigh reinforcement combined cycle power project, covering all stages from engineering to final operational testing.
