USA, Texas, Fort Worth: Hammond Power Solutions (HPS) plans to invest about $36 M in a new transformer manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, expanding its North American production footprint as demand grows from data centres, electrification and power infrastructure projects.

The company has signed a long-term lease for the facility, which is expected to begin production in stages from Q4 2027 and reach full operation in Q1 2028.

HPS estimates that the initial phase will add around $177.3 M in annual manufacturing capacity. The site could eventually support total annual capacity of approximately $283 M to $284 M, depending on future expansion and demand.

The Fort Worth plant will produce standard and custom-engineered transformers for US customers, including large projects in data centres, mining, steel, commercial construction and wind power.

HPS said the Texas location will reduce delivery distances compared with some of its existing manufacturing operations in Canada and Mexico.
