UK: Ipsum Group has expanded its specialist power engineering capabilities by acquiring Rosh Engineering Ltd, a UK-based company known for its expertise in power transformers and high-voltage services.
This move strengthens Ipsum’s role in the UK power sector at a time of rising grid investment, increasing electrification and the shift towards low-carbon energy systems. By combining Rosh’s in-depth transformer knowledge with Ipsum’s established strengths in high voltage, grid connections, control systems and infrastructure, the group is now better positioned to deliver fully integrated HV solutions to utilities, network operators and private clients.
Chief Executive Officer Andrew Cowan welcomed the Rosh team, highlighting their strong technical skills, safety standards and experience in complex environments. He noted that the acquisition enhances Ipsum’s ability to support customers across critical high-voltage assets and reinforces its commitment to improving the UK’s power infrastructure.
Rosh Engineering’s Managing Director, Ian Dormer, said the company has built its reputation on technical excellence over more than 40 years. He added that joining Ipsum offers new opportunities for growth, larger projects and continued investment in staff and facilities.
Founded in 1981, Rosh Engineering provides a full range of transformer services, including installation, maintenance, refurbishment and decommissioning. Operating from Blaydon-on-Tyne, it also delivers specialised workshop and fabrication services.
This acquisition supports Ipsum’s strategy to invest in specialist engineering and strengthen essential infrastructure across the UK.
