Croatia / Sweden: KONČAR – Generators and Motors (KONČAR GIM) has signed two contracts with Statkraft for refurbishment works at hydropower plants in Sweden.

The projects will take place at the Skeen and Majenfors facilities, with the scope including the delivery of new stators and pole re-insulation. Additional works will involve installation of braking and cooling systems, condensation heating elements, and processing of braking rings. Site activities are scheduled to begin in May 2027.

According to KONČAR, the projects follow long-standing cooperation with Statkraft in the hydropower sector. All activities will comply with Scandinavian technical standards and environmental requirements, including safe handling and disposal of asbestos waste.

These agreements add to KONČAR’s ongoing portfolio of international hydropower projects, which involve generator upgrades and modernisation to extend service life and improve efficiency.

In parallel, market analysts have recently published a new assessment of KONČAR shares, recommending purchase and setting a higher target price. The company’s stock rose nearly 20 % on the Zagreb Stock Exchange in the days following the report.
