USA, Virginia, Lynchburg: Delta Star has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by MacLean Power Systems, with completion expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Delta Star manufactures power transformers, mobile substations, modular substations, mobile circuit switchers and mobile breakers, and also provides field services. Its transformer manufacturing operations are located in Virginia, California and Quebec.
MacLean Power Systems supplies equipment used across transmission, distribution and substation infrastructure, including switches, insulators, arresters, connectors, instrument transformers and other grid components.
The acquisition will bring Delta Star’s transformer and substation portfolio into MacLean Power Systems’ broader electricity infrastructure business.
Delta Star was founded in 1908 and employs more than 1,400 people across North America. MacLean Power Systems was founded in 1986 and is a portfolio company of Blackstone.
Delta Star CEO Jason Greene said the transaction would support the company’s ability to serve growing infrastructure demand. MacLean Power Systems CEO Steve Scharnhorst said the company plans to support further capacity expansion and integrate Delta Star’s operations into its existing portfolio.
Wells Fargo served as financial adviser to Delta Star on the transaction.
