Germany: Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) has announced that delivery times for on-load tap-changers (OLTCs) have been stabilised at 16 weeks and can now be reliably committed to.
This development follows a broad global capacity programme, supported by significant investments and coordinated efforts to expand and modernise production. Facilities in Regensburg, the United States and China have seen increased production capacity, improved processes and more efficient supply chains aimed at faster delivery.
According to Holger Michalka, MR Managing Director, the changes are part of a broader effort to strengthen supply reliability: “With our global investment offensive, we are laying the foundation for a reliable and resilient supply of on-load tap-changers. The 16-week delivery time* we have now achieved is a direct result of our global structure, process, and location developments.”
The company states that the expanded programmes are now fully operational, offering greater predictability for transformer manufacturers and grid operators. This comes at a time of increasing demand across the energy sector.
MR Executive Director Sales Thorsten Stohr added: “Our delivery time commitment of no more than 16 weeks* is a deliberate signal to transformer operators and manufacturers that the time for compromise is over.”
MR noted that the combination of local manufacturing expertise, aligned global standards and continued investment supports consistent product availability and quality.
*Delivery times are generally based on EXW (Ex Works). In exceptional cases, shorter delivery times may be possible.
