Turkmenistan, Kunyaurgench: Construction work has started on a new substation in the Kunyaurgench district of Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz Region as part of ongoing efforts to modernise the country’s energy infrastructure.

Foundation works are now under way for several buildings at the site, including a specialised facility that will contain power equipment and control systems used for electricity distribution and operational management.

The new 220/110/35/10 kV substation is being built on behalf of the Dashoguzenergo production association. It will receive electricity from the state power plant in Dashoguz and supply power to industrial, communal and other economic facilities across the district.

Once completed and brought into operation, the facility will replace the ageing “Novcha” power infrastructure site. The project is expected to improve the reliability of electricity supplies and help maintain stable voltage levels across local power networks.

Authorities said the project forms part of wider regional plans to upgrade the energy system through modern technology and the construction of new infrastructure.

Officials also noted that large state-backed energy projects have helped connect the region’s electricity infrastructure to Turkmenistan’s unified energy ring system, supporting dependable electricity transmission across the area.
