Libya, Benghazi: A new 200 kVA transformer has been installed in the Sayeda Aisha area with support from the Development Fund, under the supervision of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and the Supreme Committee for Resolving the Electricity Crisis.
The installation, carried out by technical teams from the South Benghazi Department, aims to strengthen local infrastructure and ensure a stable supply of electricity. It replaces the old 100 kVA unit, which was no longer able to meet the demands of the neighbourhood due to urban growth and increased consumption.
Following the installation, loads were redistributed within the area to stabilise voltage levels and secure regular electricity supply for all homes. Authorities emphasised that the upgrade forms part of broader efforts to improve the reliability of Benghazi’s grid.
Residents welcomed the move, noting that the new transformer addresses long-standing issues of frequent outages and low voltage. Many expressed gratitude to the institutions supporting and supervising the project, describing it as a timely response that will improve daily life and ensure the continuity of essential services.
