France, Paris: Nexans has been selected by ScottishPower Renewables to supply 66 kV accessories for the East Anglia THREE offshore wind project. The development forms part of the wider East Anglia Hub and includes an offshore wind farm located around 69 kilometres off the Suffolk coast, with an onshore cable route delivering renewable electricity to a converter station in Bramford.

Projects of this scale require high levels of reliability, smooth system integration and long-term performance in demanding offshore conditions. Nexans was chosen for its strong technical proposal, engineering know-how, integrated solutions and proven reliability record. The company will deliver the 66kV accessories through its dedicated Business Unit.

Offshore wind farms are among the most complex renewable energy projects to design, build and operate. Nexans will supply a full range of accessories, including T-connectors, bushings, junction boxes, cable lugs and pre-terminated power cables. These components are designed to ensure safe and consistent electrical performance across the entire power distribution system, from the turbine nacelle to the offshore platform.

Elyette Roux, Executive Vice President PWR-Grid & Accessories at Nexans, said the project is an important step for the UK’s offshore wind ambitions. She highlighted Nexans’ role in providing a complete, end-to-end accessories solution that supports reliable installation and long-term operation.

Pedro Fernandez, EA3 Project Director at ScottishPower Renewables, noted that East Anglia THREE will play a key role in delivering clean electricity to more than 1.3 million homes. He added that Nexans’ offshore experience and integrated approach will help ensure the wind farm is delivered safely and to a high standard.

The project underlines Nexans’ commitment to supporting sustainable electrification and the global energy transition.
