France, Paris: Reinhausen GmbH is establishing a manufacturing facility for on-load tap changers (OLTCs) in Saudi Arabia, with planned investment of approximately $11.6 M (€10 M) by 2030.

The company signed a partnership agreement with Saudi consultancy AKID Advisory on 1 September 2026 during the Global Investment Summit in Paris.

The new facility will be located in Saudi Arabia’s Ash Sharqiyah Province. Reinhausen will lease an industrial site covering between 6,000 and 7,000 m2, including approximately 4,000 m2 dedicated to production and operational activities.

The site is being designed for annual production of 500 units or more, with Reinhausen aiming to serve expected demand in Saudi Arabia and across the wider GCC region through 2030.

Production will include vacuum on-load tap changers as well as the ETOS® operating system, used for the automation and digitalisation of power transformers. The facility will also support assembly, testing, warehousing, logistics, service and sales activities.

Reinhausen established its local subsidiary, Reinhausen Saudi Arabia Energy Company, in 2025 and has appointed a Saudi management team.

The company plans to complete the expansion of the site and industrial licensing process ahead of the start of manufacturing in early 2027.
