Italy, Rome: After a year of construction, RWE has commissioned the 53.1 MW Mondonuovo wind farm, one of its largest in Italy. The project consists of 9 turbines, each with a capacity of 5.9 MW and it is located in Apulia in the province of Brindisi, in the municipality of Mesagne. It can supply power to 55000 Italian households. 150 workers were involved during the construction phase.

Looking ahead, the next projects using the Italian wind and sun are in the starting blocks.”
RWE operates 17 onshore wind farms and one solar plant in Italy, with an installed capacity of 589 MW, enough to supply more than 500,000 Italian households. It is currently constructing the 9.8 MWac Morcone and 9.3 MWac Acquafredda advanced Agri-PV plants, both in the Campania region.
