UK, Scotland: SSEN Transmission has completed the first stage of delivering two super grid transformers to its Creag Dhubh substation project.
The first transformer was safely moved from Clydebank to Stuckgowan earlier this week, marking an important milestone for the project. The next overnight movement to Dalmally has been rescheduled for 16 June, following a change to the original timetable.
The transformer deliveries will continue under Police Scotland escort, with traffic management measures in place on parts of the A82 to support the operation and help protect road users and delivery teams.
Local diversions and signage will be in place, while access for emergency services will be maintained. The transformer is expected to continue to the Creag Dhubh site the following day.
Delivery timings for the second transformer are still being finalised, with a further update expected in due course.

We are working closely with our road traffic partners to keep disruption to a minimum and will provide further updates once plans for the second transformer delivery are confirmed. In the meantime, we are grateful for the continued patience and support of the public and our partner organisations as we deliver infrastructure that will strengthen the local network and support renewable energy growth across Argyll.”
