The Netherlands: TenneT Holding has announced that Stijn van Els will step down from its Supervisory Board with effect from 30 June 2026.
Van Els has decided to leave the role before the end of his current term for health reasons. He joined TenneT’s Supervisory Board in 2019 and served as Chair of the Strategic Investment Committee.
During his time on the board, Van Els contributed to TenneT’s strategic development during a period of major investment linked to the energy transition.
Anja Mutsaers, Chair of the Supervisory Board, said Van Els had served TenneT with dedication, particularly through his work leading the Strategic Investment Committee. She thanked him for his commitment and contribution and said the company respected his decision to step down.
TenneT’s Executive Board also expressed appreciation for his work. CEO Manon van Beek said his knowledge and experience, especially in major infrastructure projects and safety, had been valuable to the organisation.
Reflecting on his time at TenneT, Van Els said it had been a privilege to contribute to the company’s development during a period of significant challenges. He added that he looked back with pride on what had been achieved and had confidence in TenneT’s continued public mission.
Harry Brekelmans will succeed Van Els as Chair of the Strategic Investment Committee.
