Denmark, Aarhus: Vestas has appointed Felix Henseler as its new Chief Technology and Operations Officer (CTOO), effective 1 September 2025. He will succeed Anders Nielsen, who has announced his intention to retire from day-to-day management by the end of the year after six years in the position.
Henseler, formerly chief executive of ZF Wind Power, will join Vestas immediately. His role will focus on scaling both onshore and offshore manufacturing, strengthening the company’s wind energy solutions, and driving industry maturity. To ensure a smooth handover, Nielsen will remain as an advisor to Vestas and Henseler until the end of 2025.
“The energy industry is impacted by the geopolitical shifts we are seeing across the globe, and our ability to become even more efficient, competitive and scalable will be decisive,” Henseler said. “With a long career in engineering and manufacturing, my focus will be on delivering efficiency, competitiveness and scalability while supporting our customer commitments.”
Reflecting on his tenure, Nielsen highlighted milestones such as the turnaround of the Power Solutions segment, development of the V236-15.0 MW offshore turbine, and industrialisation of the company’s manufacturing setup. “I am proud of what we have achieved together, and I look forward to supporting Felix through the transition,” Nielsen said.
Henseler will join Vestas’ Executive Management team, reporting directly to Henrik Andersen. The appointment follows the merger of Vestas’ Technology and Manufacturing organisations into Technology and Operations in Q3 2024.
